Week 9's Game To Watch

This week's potential game of the week features The Team To Beat (7-1) against The Steel Curtain (5-3). Up to this point in the season, The Team To Beat has been just that, as they have scored the most points in the HFfantasy league by far, putting up 6327 points after 8 weeks of play. The next highest scoring team has been Throw me the damn ball, scoring 5577 points. Steel Curtain will need big performances out of their key players, including RB LaDainian Tomlinson. LT is averaging 92.9 points per game so far this season, and Steel Curtain GM Greg hopes he continues the trend. The key to this week's matchup will be the play of the QBs. Tom Brady is on a record setting pace so far this season, and if he continues this production The Team To Beat will be the odds on favorite to win it all. Unless Brady is held to an average day against the Colts this week, the favorite to win this matchup has to be The Team To Beat. Steel Curtain will need to see good play out of quarterbacks Roethlisberger and McCown in order to keep pace with The Team To Beat in this matchup of divisional foes. My prediction is a victory for The Team To Beat, with the final score being 763-584.

Can The Commish Continue The Trend?

It's been a rough year for the Offense, but things seem to be improving. While the playoffs may be a longshot for this team, there is some hope that it could happen. Since the Offense's week 4 loss, the team's point production has been on the incline ever since. In order to stay alive, the Offense (1-7) will need to pull out a win against divisional rival Delta Force (5-3). ESPN projects that this matchup is a virtual push, so it's anybody's game. The Offense will need to get better production out of it's RB's than they did last week in order to pull off a win this week. Donovan McNabb is the key player in this matchup, as he tries to bring the Eagles back into contention in a divisional matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

Week 8 Scoring Leaders

Week 8 was full of great fantasy performances by QBs. The top 3 scorers for week 8 were Brett Favre (190 points), Drew Brees (188 points), and Tom Brady (185 points). Tom Brady continues his assault on NFL secondaries, and could be on his way to a record setting season if his production continues. Brady has already matched his career high in TD passes in a season, and does not look to be slowing down anytime soon. These three QBs have earned top performer honors for week 8, as they prove to be likely keepers for their respective teams in 2008.

The Commish Gets First Win of 2007

It's been a rough 2007 season for the Commish and the NeedSome Offense. After 7 weeks the Offense was win less, and had also earned the right to be the "laughing stock" of HFfantasy. Throughout the season there have been ups and downs, and the Commish has done many things to try to improve his team. After 7 trades, 11 FA acquisitions, and 5635.5 points scored against him, the Commish finally got win number 1 under his belt. Week 8 included a match up between the win less Offense and the undefeated Throw me the damn ball. It was a match up of 0-7 vs. 7-0, the Dolphins vs. the Patriots if you must, but luckily for the Offense, the undefeated squad headed by GM Brandi was weak in week 8. GM Brandi had only one starting QB, a weak RB core, and a weekend of non-production from the WR unit. The Offense came out with a 764-348 win, headed by 100+ performances by Marc Bulger, Greg Jennings, and Joey Galloway. The top performer for Throw me the damn ball was Carson Palmer, who put up 97 points during Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. A sign of things to come? I think not. I would put my money on the Offense having the number 1 draft pick in 2008.

Week 8 Game Of The Week

Team conquest defeats Team Titty Tara in dramatic fashion

Going into Monday night's match up between the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos, Team conquest had a comfortable lead on Team Titty Tara. The score going into Monday evening was 578-441 in favor of Team conquest, but Team Titty Tara and GM Lester Goodermote still had Brett Favre, who with a good performance, could lift Team Titty Tara to victory. Favre didn't disappoint, but neither did RB Selvin Young. Brett Favre put together a great performance in an overtime victory against the Broncos. The deciding touchdown was an 82 yard TD pass to WR Greg Jennings on the first play from scrimmage in the overtime period, to lift the Packers over the Broncos 19-13. Favre put up 190 points for Team Titty Tara, which surely would have helped gain the fantasy victory if it weren't for the play of Selvin Young. Although Young failed to reach the end zone for the Broncos, he did just enough for Team conquest to secure the victory over Team Titty Tara. Young finished the game with 120 total yards (71 rushing, 49 receiving) which was enough to help Team conquest hold onto the week 8 victory. What didn't help Team Titty Tara was the play of RB DeShawn Wynn. Wynn gave the team only 1 total point of production on Monday night, after having only 1 carry that resulted in only 1 yard. Team conquest also got 8 points out of CB Dre Bly in the 655-632 victory. With the win, Team conquest holds onto first place in Division 2, while Team Titty Tara drops to 4-4, and stays at second place in Division 3.
